Community Pet Pantry Program

This program is only available because of the generous donations of community members.  One hundred percent of the food and supplies distributed through our Pet Pantry is donated by the public.  We currently provide for over 1,000 pets each month!  Please consider making a donation on a quarterly basis to help us keep the Pantry stocked and pets in loving homes or consider doing a quarterly food drive at your work place, church, club, or community organization.  For more information about making a donation contact brownra@leegov.com.

About the Program:

Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS) established the Community Pet Pantry Program to temporarily assist pet owners in financial crisis to keep beloved pets in loving, responsible homes rather than surrendered to overcrowed shelters. The Community Pet Pantry Program provides complimentary pet food and supplies for Lee County residents.

In order to qualify for the Community Pet Pantry Program:

  • Owners must provide documentation of receiving public assistance (e.g. WIC checks, unemployment, social security disability, etc.) and proof of Lee County residence.
  • Pets must be sterilized, licensed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies and possess a county license prior to being eligible for the program. (LCDAS will provide spay/neuter services for Pet Pantry applicants of domestic or feral cats and pit bulls or pit bull mixes.  All other breeds will be referred to Lee County low-cost clinics for assistance.)
  • Owners must comply with state statutes and county ordinances.

Approved applications for the Pet Pantry Program will expire after one-year of assistance.
